A Prayer to Forgive Someone Who Hurt Me Deeply
Matthew 18:21–22 · ESV
[21] Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” [22] Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times. (ESV)

This guided prayer is a starting point. Take your time. Pause when you need to. Add what's on your heart and allow this to become your own conversation with God.
PRAY
Father, the wound is deep. I don't want to forgive, but You call me to forgive seventy times seven. I can't do this in my own strength. I ask You to heal my heart and help me release this person into Your hands. I choose to forgive, not because they deserve it, but because I've been forgiven. In Jesus' name, Amen.
