Jesus Thanks the Father

After being rejected by the cities where He had performed mighty works, Jesus did not complain or become bitter. Instead, He rejoiced in the Spirit and thanked the Father — not for the success of His ministry, but for the Father's sovereign choice to reveal truth to the humble and hide it from the wise.
[25] At that time Jesus declared, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; [26] yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. (ESV)
- •Jesus prayed with gratitude even in the face of rejection. He addressed God as 'Father, Lord of heaven and earth' — acknowledging both intimacy and sovereignty. He found joy in the Father's will, not in circumstances. He recognized that God's ways often confound human wisdom.
Prayer is a place of gratitude, not just requests. Even when things don't go as we hoped, we can rejoice that the Father is in control. True prayer trusts that God's plan is good, even when we don't understand it.
Jesus prayed with joy and gratitude, even in disappointment. He didn't let circumstances dictate His worship. His prayer life was rooted in trust that the Father's choices are always good.
Father, Lord of heaven and earth, I thank You. Even when I don't understand what You're doing, I trust that Your plan is good. Help me to find joy in Your will, not just in my circumstances. Reveal Yourself to me in my humility, and keep me from the pride that blinds me to Your truth.
